Korok Cultural Association is led by a passionate group of individuals who are dedicated to preserving and promoting Bengali heritage, language, and traditions. Our board members work collectively to organize cultural events, foster a sense of community, and create opportunities for learning and celebration within the diaspora.
Sayantan is a Finance professional working for Morgan Stanley. A quintessential Bengali, Sayantan loves his Tagore, afternoon naps and Ghee bhaat alusheddho. As the Chairperson of Korok, Sayantan envisions to build Korok a refuge for anyone trying to reconnect to their Bengali roots. Sayantan also dreams of a day when our students would be able to read and appreciate Tagore.
Saheli is a Managing Director at Webster Bank, serving as the Head of the CECL Production and Innovation unit within Financial Analytics. She envisions fostering strong family bonds within the Korok Cultural Association (KCA), warmly connected through our Bengali roots. As the General Secretary of KCA, her goal is to establish a solid foundation upon which the KCA community can build a lasting legacy and a home to blossom for our next generations.
Soumya is a Data & AI technology leader at Slalom, a global strategy, technology and management consulting firm. He is passionate about building Korok as a vibrant community anchoring around our rich Bengali cultural roots and heritage especially working with our abundantly gifted next generation. As the Treasurer at KCA, Soumya is committed to bring in operational rigor and discipline in handling finance based on his professional background.
Rajdeep is a Quantitative Developer and Business Analysis Lead at a boutique Hedge Fund based out of Harrison, NY. He loves working with kids and is passionate about bringing them close to their culture and heritage. In his capacity as the Principal of Korok Bangla Shikkhaloy, he firmly believes a strong cultural/language education is the prerequisite to raising confident young individuals who are not just proud Americans/Canadians but proud citizens equally proud of their roots.
Sanjukta is a Research Scientist at Arvinas supporting the Immuno-oncology portfolio of the company. As the Cultural Secretary of KCA, Sanjukta is looking forward to celebrating the rich tapestry of our Bengali heritage and fostering a strong bond through art, music, and tradition. She is very passionate about empowering the next generation to uphold our culture and traditions.
Arnab is a physician scientist, deeply connected to his Bangla roots. He is passionate about music and literature. As a board member of Korok Cultural Association, Arnab is dedicated to building a vibrant and close-knit Bangla community in the Northeast USA through philanthropy and community engagement.
Sarmistha is a Staff Scientist and Technical Team Lead at Siemens Healthineers, managing diagnostic products from concept to market in the R&D division. In addition to teaching the youngest kids of Korok Shikkhaloy, she will lead KCA Communications. She looks forward to building a strong network of friends and family in this ‘home away from home’, that will self sustain for the next generations.
